Meet the Team

Anna
Hello, my name is Anna and I am the office manager here at Hurley & Volk Orthodontics. I joined the team after 27 years of working in the banking industry. I first learned about this office because my kids came here for their orthodontic work! I knew from the office atmosphere and customer service that this would be a great environment in which I would love to work.
I work directly with our patients and staff to make sure that everyone’s visit to our office is a productive, efficient and pleasant one. I think the best part of my job is meeting the patients and seeing what a difference orthodontic treatment can make for them. Another role as office manager is to help families with regards to any questions they may have during treatment, financial or otherwise.
I love working closely with patients and getting the chance to meet so many people in the community. I am active with many volunteer organizations in the area including Cal’s Angels, the Elgin Chamber of Commerce, the Boys and Girls Club and the Elgin Hispanic Network.
My husband and I have 3 kids, and in my spare time you can find us either at the baseball or football fields cheering them on.

Karen
Hello, my name is Karen, I’m the treatment coordinator and proud to be part of our great team. I have 15 years of orthodontic experience and enjoy learning about new technological advancements in our field. I love teaching our patients and families about the progression of their treatment and seeing the expressions on their faces when they start seeing their new smiles coming through! Getting to know our patients and families gives me a great opportunity to connect with each person so I can take part in creating a pleasant experience for them. It is incredible to see how smiles transition over time and being a part of that transformation is priceless.
My family and I have resided in Lake in the Hills for 11 years now. In addition to spending time with my husband, three children, and our two dogs, I love outdoor activities such as hiking, horseback riding. and gardening.

Alyssa
Hello! I play a dual role by helping greet and schedule patients and families in addition to assisting the doctors chairside. I was the first dental assistant on our team to train at the front desk. This way I can schedule patient appointments, answer payment questions, and also answer clinical questions. I enjoy developing relationships with our patients and their families and it doesn’t take long for me to greet patients by name! I attended the University of Central Missouri on a bowling scholarship, where I received a BS in Criminal Justice. As a result of my major, my team gave me the nickname of “Sergeant!”
In my free time, I love to spend time with my amazing family, participate in bowling leagues, and compete in tournaments. During the summer, you can find me in Lake Geneva, WI doing tricks on the wave runners and water skiing! During the winter, I also love to go sledding and snowmobiling.

Cheryl
Hello! I have been working in the field of orthodontics for 23 years and I am fortunate to be able to say that I still love my job! I greet patients as they enter our office, help schedule future appointments, and answer any questions they may have about anything! I take great pride in knowing each of our patients personally and being able to greet them with sincerity. I enjoy taking great care of people and it is never a problem for me to go above and beyond for our patients.
My husband, Gary, and I have a wonderful extended family of five beautiful grown daughters and five amazing grandchildren. When I'm not spending time with family, I love to garden, read, and work on board puzzles.

Tammy
Hi! My name is Tammy. I work at the front desk scheduling patients for their next appointments as well as helping with any questions our patients may have. I enjoy meeting all the families and keeping busy with coordinating front desk activities.
I had the pleasure of experiencing all that our office has to offer when my daughter was a patient. As a result, she has a beautiful smile!
When I'm not working, my favorite hobby is spending time with my family. I'm married with 3 children. I also have a new daughter-in-law and a beautiful granddaughter Sophia. I also like cruising around in my bright yellow Smart car!

Stephanie
Hi, I have assisted the doctors chairside for over four years. I enjoy explaining to patients how the teeth move during treatment and the purpose of the various orthodontic appliances. It’s fun to watch the fascinated faces of our patients! It is truly an amazing feeling to see the smiles our team brings to our patients and families when they finally get to see how their teeth look underneath the braces! I also speak Spanish fluently and appreciate that I can be a part of breaking down the communication barrier for Spanish speaking families.
I have a wonderful husband named Gil and a beautiful daughter named Aaliyah. Our free time is spent visiting our friends and family. I love reading to my daughter and playing fun games with her that make her laugh. And, like every girl, I love shopping – but mostly with my mother!

Sherry
My role on our team is to assist our doctors with treatment appointments, follow up with patient care calls, and help our patients stay on track with taking care of their teeth while in braces. I have been in the dental field for over 20 years, the last 12 in orthodontics. After all these years, I am still honored to have the privilege of working with people and the pleasure of making someone smile.
My children are now teenagers and I enjoy taking part in watching them grow. In my personal time, I enjoy giving back to my community through helping others. I have welcomed into my home a stroke survivor and an elderly “shut in,” which is someone who is unable to get around on their own. Any remaining free time is spent maintaining our home and catching up on sleep!

Gino
Hello! My name is Gino, and I wear many hats here at Hurley & Volk Orthodontics. I call patients in and seat them, monitor sterilization, and assist the doctors chair-side. I personally enjoy seeing patients that have gone through the journey of having braces and watching them walk into our office ready for our team to remove their braces. They leave looking great and more confident in their smiles! I know because I am a past patient as well!
I am currently attending Elgin Community College in search of a career in the medical field while hopefully being able to minor in film. I am also part of the Asian Filipino Club executive board at ECC as the dance coordinator. In my spare time I love to sleep, play video games, take pictures of various things, make dance choreography, as well as spending time with my family and friends.

Mary Lynne
Hello! I lead all of our marketing efforts in spreading the word about our practice, collaborate and communicate with area dental offices, and ensure our offices have a warm and fun atmosphere for our patients. While raising my family, I became the office manager for my brother, Dr. Dennis Bond. 25 years later, I still enjoy working in the same office that later welcomed my son, Dr. Ryan Hurley. It has been such a rewarding experience to watch Dr. Ryan develop an interest in the dental field at an early age and becoming a third generation dental provider. Even more rewarding is observing how Dr. Ryan and my daughter-in-law, Dr. Tonya, interact with patients and their families as they provide excellent and compassionate orthodontic care.
Besides spending time with my Husband, my beautiful daughter and Drs. Ryan and Tonya, I enjoy traveling. I recently experienced a fabulous trip with family to Ireland and a spectacular walking tour on the Amalfi Coast in Italy with girlfriends. I look forward to a trip next year to hike, bike, and kayak out west!

Nat
Hi! My name is Nat, and I am a certified dental laboratory technician. I attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I went on to attend the Southern Illinois University Dental Technology program from which I received a degree.
I work behind the scenes (in my dungeon below the clinic) to fabricate custom made orthodontic appliances for our patients, ranging from palatal expanders to retainers. By having an in house lab, I am able to deliver precise appliances to the Doctor’s specifications in a much shorter period than having appliances made at an outside laboratory. This is a great convenience for our patients.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, going to rock concerts, trying new restaurants, and traveling. Recent concerts that I have attended include Deftones and Chicago’s very own Rise Against! My recent trip, to escape the Chicago winter, was to tropical Jamaica!

Dr. Dennis L. Bond
Dr. Dennis Bond founded the Elgin and Schaumburg locations of our practice. He continues to provide excellent orthodontic care to his past patients in Elgin and Schaumburg and is a familiar face to those patients who are now bringing their children in for treatment or who have returned for retention checks. He is a native of Elgin, Illinois, and he graduated from St. Edward High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University, Chicago, and graduated from Loyola Dental School with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He attended Northwestern University Graduate School for Orthodontics and received his certificate of Orthodontics in 1971.
He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), The Illinois Society of Orthodontists, The Midwest Society of Orthodontists, The American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and several Elgin and Schaumburg Study Clubs.
By studying and working with leaders in the orthodontic profession, Dr. Bond continues to deliver excellence in his specialty. He believes that continuing education is vital in order to provide quality patient care. He consistently exceeds the requirements for continuing education each year.
He enjoys the fact that our office develops long-term friendships with patients. Dr. Bond’s philosophy has been that orthodontics becomes a very gratifying profession when you help people feel better about themselves with excellent orthodontic results.
In his spare time, Dr. Bond enjoys spending time with his wife Krystine, his children, and grandchildren. His hobbies include sailing, fishing, traveling, and watching the Chicago Bears.
